Wolfe Pickleball Paddles Up to Support Veterans at the Aaron Gifford Pickleball Benefit

Posted by Brian Longest on

Las Cruces, NM – Wolfe Pickleball, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality pickleball equipment, has proudly provided some equipment to the Aaron Gifford Pickleball Benefit, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting US veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The company is committed to providing premium pickleball paddles and a portion of its revenue to support the cause.

The Aaron Gifford Pickleball Benefit was established in memory of Aaron Gifford, an Army veteran and a pickleball enthusiast, who sadly lost his battle with PTSD in 2018. Aaron served in the 3rd Infantry during the first invasion of Iraq. Upon his return, he found solace and camaraderie on the pickleball courts, winning numerous medals across New Mexico.

"By providing our paddles and contributing to the tournament, we aim to celebrate Aaron’s legacy and aid in the healing process of our heroes through the joy of pickleball."

The Benefit is led by Aaron’s mother, his twin sister Kiley, and his pickleball comrades. Their dedication has propelled the initiative to raise over $60,000, which has significantly aided veteran-support entities like the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope Veteran’s Housing Program and Mission 22. The latter is an organization committed to addressing the devastating reality that over 22 veterans are lost to suicide daily, offering critical medical and therapeutic support.

This year, the Benefit extends its reach, aspiring to secure homes for local homeless veterans. Nicole Martinez, the director of Mesilla Valley Community of Hope Veteran’s Program, underlined the critical need, stating that "approximately $3000 is required to transition a veteran from the streets into a home."

The tournament is more than a sporting event; it’s a communal endeavor to honor the sacrifices of our veterans and provide them with the support they deserve. Participants and spectators are encouraged to join in the fundraising efforts to help reach the goal of not just awareness, but active contribution to the lives of veterans struggling with PTSD.
